  • From the time you submit your intake form to the time a counselor reaches out to you to schedule an appointment, you can expect to wait 48 business hours. The time between that initial email and your first appointment depends on the availability of our counselors, which is always changing.

  • When you connect with our counselors, you will be sent a link to all of our financial paperwork and counseling intake forms for you to complete and submit electronically.

  • We are currently meeting online with clients all over the country. Aren’t sure if that’s for you? Almost everyone who tries one online session returns for more because of the convenience and consistency. Click here to schedule an online session today.

  • For a minor under the age of sixteen, both parents or legal guardians are required to to consent for an initial counseling session. Custody documents may be requested.

  • Counseling sessions are typically 50 minutes. A client wanting a longer period of time may request a double session.

  • Client confidentiality is a core pillar of The Breaking Ground. The following situations explain Waivers to Confidentiality when your personal information would be shared regardless of consent:

    • when required by law (those situations are clearly outlined in the Privacy Statement included in our Intake Packet)

    • when necessary as part of the “no secrets” policy for Couple and Family counseling (outlined in the Privacy Statement for Couples and Family Counseling Clients in our Intake Packet)

    Our counselors respect their clients’ confidentiality and ensure your privacy by adhering to the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) code of ethics.

  • Contact your counselor directly by phone or email for scheduling issues or to cancel your appointment.

  • We do not accept insurance. After considering the higher fees of other counseling sessions with the terms of the insurance coverage, clients often decide its just as affordable to schedule with The Breaking Ground. Given our ministry mindset, clients may ask family, friends, and churches to split the costs of sessions as a sponsor or scholarship.   • Each session costs $80 with additional fees for electronic processing. Balances must be paid before sessions begin.

  • We accept credit cards. Email questions to billing@thebreakingground.com

    Accounts must be kept current in order to continue with sessions.

  • To cancel and/or reschedule an appointment you must notify your counselor via text or a phone call AT LEAST 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. to avoid an $80 fee for a missed session.

  • No. Please feel free to communicate any preferences to your counselor so they can support you in a way that feels right for you.
